BRIEF HISTORY

Federal Science and Technical College, Ilesa Osun State is co-educational Institution which started as a Technical College in 1988. It was one of the twelve (12) Federal Technical Colleges established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in attempt to broaden Technical Education in the country and to make it accessible to more Nigerians seeking training in technical and vocational education.


The College admitted its first batch of students in 1992 and has progressed in leaps and bounds.  In the 2001/2002 session the Federal Government introduced the Science Programme into all the Federal Technical Colleges. This change means a new mandate, so in addition to Technical Education, the College provides Conventional Science Education at the Junior and Senior Secondary School. It is worthy of note that the set of students, with which this new mandate began in 2001/2002 passed out in 2007/2008 session with excellent results in both WASSCE and NECO.

PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION AND ACADEMICS

Admission into the College is through the National Common Entrance Examination organized by NECO after Primary Six. The Federal Ministry of Education (F.M.E) being the proprietor of the school determines the criteria for admission into JS1



1. National Merit 60%

2. Equality of States 30%

3. Discretion or Exigency 10%

TECHNICAL SECTION

The admission into Technical Section (TS) conducted by the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB). 

Candidates seeking admission into Technical Year one must possess:

1. The Junior Secondary School Certificate with passes in at least 6 Subjects including English Language and Mathematics.

2. Senior School Certificate such as NECO, WASCE, and G.C.E O ’Level with passes in at least three Subjects. 

These are Subjects to change by the Federal Ministry of Education.

The following Subjects are being offered in the Technical section of the College.

1. Block Laying and Concreting

2. Electrical Installation

3. Motor Vehicle Mechanics Work

4. Motor Vehicle Mechanics

5. Computer Craft Studies

6. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning

7. Radio Television Electronics

8. Catering Craft Practice

9. Business Studies

10. Furniture Craft Practice

11. Information Communication Technology

In order to capture the full and correct details of our students, parents are strictly advised to login to their Parent Account frequently and update the records of their ward(s) as well as their own record.

Parents without email address are seriously advised to create one, as this will enable the school operators to periodically send Results directly to your mail box as well as other important information that is to be passed.

Students with incomplete information on their Account will not be able to view results nor perform any other task on the school portal.

2. You will find yourself on the school portal page. Now enter your username and password as provided to you in school.

3. When you have successfully logged in, as a Student, click on My Results OR as a Parent, click on My Ward's Result.
